In this Gujarati bhajan, Pujya Kakaji is saying…
Time will not wait for anyone ever, if you do not catch hold of time when you have it, then you will remain empty-handed and will only remain an observer.
If someone offers you a hand of friendship, and if you do not hold that hand, you will not understand when that hand will be pulled back, then, you will remain empty-handed and will only remain an observer.
When Laxmi comes to put tikka (emblem) on your forehead (when wealth comes to your doorstep) and if you go to wash your face (go away), then you will remain empty-handed and will only remain an observer.
When you get neck down deep in your troubles, and if you do not light up the candle of faith, then you will remain empty-handed and will only remain an observer.
Kaka is explaining that when opportunities are given to us in life, then we must identify, acknowledge and act upon these opportunities.
The opportunity can be in terms of time, friendship (relationship), wealth (wealth of knowledge and guidance) or a solution for all the troubles. We must recognize that the time given to us in this life is most valuable and not to be wasted. Wealth in terms of knowledge, guidance and blessings of a Guru is not to be wasted. Beautiful relationships that are given to us in this life are to be cherished. Faith in God is not to be shaken. Time, blessings of Guru, relationships with higher souls and faith in Divine are our pillars of strength and has to be deeply recognised and gratefully acknowledged by us.
