સ્વપ્નું સોહામણું છે માડી, એ તો ના સચવાય

આશાઓ જગાડે એવી માડી, ઘડી-ઘડી એ નંદવાય
શાંતિ હૈયે જાગે જ્યાં થોડી, કામ-ક્રોધ એને લૂંટી જાય
હૈયું તારી તરફ વળે જ્યાં, લોભ-લાલચ એને ખેંચી જાય
હૈયે અનેરા તાલ જાગ્યા માડી, ચિંતા બેસૂરા બનાવી જાય
કહેવું આ જઈને કોને માડી, કોણ મારું એ ના સમજાય
દિલની વાત છે અનેરી, માયામાં એ બહુ લપટાય
તારા તરફ વાળવા ચાહું, માયા તો એને ખેંચી જાય
દયાજનક સ્થિતિ છે મારી, હવે વધુ સહ્યું નવ જાય
કૃપા ઉતારજે તારી માડી, આ બાળ તારા ગુણ ગાય

āśāō jagāḍē ēvī māḍī, ghaḍī-ghaḍī ē naṁdavāya
śāṁti haiyē jāgē jyāṁ thōḍī, kāma-krōdha ēnē lūṁṭī jāya
haiyuṁ tārī tarapha valē jyāṁ, lōbha-lālaca ēnē khēṁcī jāya
haiyē anērā tāla jāgyā māḍī, ciṁtā bēsūrā banāvī jāya
kahēvuṁ ā jaīnē kōnē māḍī, kōṇa māruṁ ē nā samajāya
dilanī vāta chē anērī, māyāmāṁ ē bahu lapaṭāya
tārā tarapha vālavā cāhuṁ, māyā tō ēnē khēṁcī jāya
dayājanaka sthiti chē mārī, havē vadhu sahyuṁ nava jāya

Explanation 1:
In this bhajan, Kaka talks about how the connection with ' Maa' is still a beautiful dream, but not yet fulfilled. How our heart and mind travels like a pendulum. One knows connection with God is ultimate, but heart and mind keep on getting involved in these worldly matters and keep experiencing greed, jealousy, anger, worry, etc. when one actually wants to experience peace, and listen to God's music. It's a pathetic condition to be in. So, please Maa gives the blessing and grace to lift one above it and connect with her.
Explanation 2:
Kakaji in this beautiful hymn, wants the mind to be still in the glory of the Divine Mother-
The dream is enchanting Oh divine mother, it cannot be taken care of.
It awakens so many hopes Oh divine mother, every time they are destroyed.
When a little bit of peace arises in the heart, anger and lust rob it.
When the heart turns towards You, greed and selfishness takes it away.
Many rhythms arose in the heart, worries made them tuneless.
Whom should I go and tell this Oh divine Mother, who is mine I do not know.
The way of the heart is different, yet it gets engulfed in illusion (maya).
I try to turn it towards You, the illusion (maya) pulls it away.
My state is very pitiful, I cannot bear it any longer.
Shower Your grace Oh divine Mother, this child sings songs of glory for You.
