Kaka gives me a pen - then a miracle occurs

Whenever we used to meet Kaka (Satguru Devendra Ghia), there used to be a lot of laughter and play. Kaka (Satguru Devendra Ghia) used to sing bhajans and we would play with him. Sometimes, Kaka (Satguru Devendra Ghia) would compose several bhajans impromptu there and there and there would be so many answers for so many people in those bhajans. Often, there would be a jugalbandi between Alpa and Kaka where Kaka would sing one line impromptu, and then Alpa would sing the next line again impromptu! Sometimes Kaka would sing in Gujarati and Alpa would reply in shairi. One actually felt there was a mushaira going on. Internally, I used to wonder, when would I be able to do this.

One day, Kaka gave me his pen and said, "Start writing." I was thrilled as whenever Kaka gave his pen to someone, that person would compose beautiful hymns. I took the pen, went home, sat with a book and his pen and thought, and thought what to write. NOTHING HAPPENED!! I was disappointed and wondered how would I ever write. The next day, I was traveling in the MUMBAI local train sandwiched in between sweating bodies with not a movement possible while balancing my body and trying to remain upright without falling or leaning on someone. There was a bag in one of my hands and the other hand was holding the handrail when the divine flow started. It kept on playing in my head and I knew I just had to write it down. Letting go of the handrail, I searched my bag for a paper and used the back of a bill to write down what was flowing. The glaring eyes of people, the screeching of the brakes, the push and pull of the gravitational force of people getting out and in of the coach made no difference. I was glued and the flow would not stop. The tears of joy would also not stop!!
When I met Kaka , I could not stop myself and told him I have written something. Kaka listened to it and smiled. That made my day.

Subsequently, the divine words continue to flow. It is true that you cannot make an effort to write, then nothing will come. The writing is effortless, you just have to connect. And God does have a quirky sense of humor - when you are in a peaceful environment, nothing will come but when you are in the local train, in a crowd, in the restaurant with friends, the flow starts and you can do nothing but apologize, put your head down and start writing and connecting with god while disconnecting with everything else!!
