In this Gujarati bhajan, Pujya Kakaji is saying…
My lamp of life is of seven flames, such is the lamp of my life.
Till the time the oil (energy) is filled in the lamp (life), it is going to keep burning.
Either of the flames will keep burning. It has been burning ever since the birth. I do not know, till when it will keep burning.
As the oil gets depleted, there is no refill of that oil. (Number breaths)
The oil of someone else’s is of no use to me. The oil that I have got with me is only workable.
It is burning from within and lightning up the life.
It will give light to others if it remains clean.
The oil (energy) is unique, and the lamp (life) is unique. It keeps burning by the oil (energy) of the Divine.
Upon depletion of the oil, the lamp will extinguish and all the flames will be extinguished.
Kaka is narrating about divine energy that is flowing within us, our finite number of breaths that is given to us and to do best in this life that is limited by the predestined time. Kaka is reminding us about the paradox of our finite life and eternal universe. Our borrowed noneternal existence from the eternal Divine.
