I don’t know, I don’t know, I don’t know
I don’t know, I don’t know, I don’t know
Often we hear many saying, “I don’t know”
Willingly, unwilling use it freely, “I don’t know”
To avoid answer, we take shelter saying, “I don’t know”
Sometimes to be modest, we say, “I don’t know”
Searching deep knowledge, it sparkles, "I don’t know"
Moving across world, much we come to know, “I don’t know”
Bulk of what we know is less than, I don’t know
Knowing one, everything is known, that I don’t know.

In this English hymn, He makes us understand that we actually know very little of the universe -
If someone were to ask us something that we don't wish to be bothered with, we will reply that we don't know
If we are asked something awkward that we don't wish to answer, we will reply that we don't know
If we are in circle of people we assume to be lesser than us and get asked something, we may modestly reply that we don't know
If we are in a circle of pseudo intellectuals and get asked something, we may reply we don't know to show how deep we actually are
If we are asked something by real intellectuals, we may reply we don't know to hide our limited knowledge
The actual reality is that we don't know anything at all
If we know God, we actually know everything ; but since we don't know God, we really do not know anything at all
We can have the best of education from the most elite schools and colleges in the world and think that we have learnt a lot. We can have travelled the world and have the widest possible experiences of everything. But, if we don't know God, we have not learnt anything and actually do not know anything at all. We need to strip away our delusions of ourselves and reach out to God. If we do try to know God and get blessed by his grace, we will know everything.
