Where are you, where are you, where are you
Where are you, tell me, where can I find you
Sometime I feel you, you are near, still I can't find you
Murmuring of leaves, whistling of wind reminds of you
Deep roaring of ocean, thundering of light reminds of you
It itches me to measure you in inches, cannot measure you
Life goes on, to move along with it, still cannot find you
Neither I am able, nor unable, still not reached you
You have not changed, I have to change for you.

Our dearest Guruji, Shri Devendra Ghia (lovingly known as Kaka), a complete and total devotee of the Divine Mother and the Almighty God, in all their many appearances (Avatars), has written an incredible 10,000+ hymns with Divine inspiration. In this English hymn, Kaka is showing us how He Himself has been searching the Almighty and what all He has been going through -
I want to meet you and experience your presence but only in my dreams, I am able to do so
I am unable to find out where you are and keep searching for you everywhere
Please help me to know where you are so that I can reach you
Sometimes, I can feel you being very near to me but, I still cannot find you
Gentle movements of nature arranged by you such as even the hushed whispering of leaves rustling or the soothing whistling of the wind swaying makes me think of you
Even the fury and the tempest with the lashing sounds of lightening bolts makes me think of your immense power
If I try to fathom your supremacy, it will become a futile effort
My life is passing by and giving me less and less time, but I still cannot find you
Even though I don’t stop trying and still keep trying, I am still unable to reach you
You are where you are as you are and I realize that it is I who has to continue to do everything to be able to reach you by changing myself into what you want me to be
Kaka is explaining to us that our own search for God will be neither easy nor quick and even just yearning for God is not sufficient. Only and only if, we resolve to change ourselves by completely following the path shown by Him, will we be able to start becoming closer to Him. This path has been shown by our most benevolent and magnanimous Guruji through all his 10,000+ hymns in very clear, repeated clarifications and reinforcement to clear up any ambiguities.
