Changing your mind in your life every now and then

If in your life, your wrong action, if you will defend; where...

If you will not, to your wrong thoughts and deeds put an end; where...

If you will not to god, right prayers and thoughts send; where...

You are holier and holiest in world, if you think and pretend; where...

In life, on right understandings if you will not stand; where...

In your life on loose hopes if you will depend; where...

Greedy and greedier in life you will become, if you do not put to it an end; where...

If you tear your life in pieces and if you do not mend, where...

SATGURU DEVENDRA GHIA (KAKA)
English Explanation Increase Font Decrease Font

In this English hymn, Kaka is helping us question the futility of living a life that is not of any worth while also teaching us the proper way of life -

We need to be objective and decisive, especially on critical matters in life and ensure that we follow accordingly ; if we do not decide or simply hesitate which by default means we do not decide, then it will not help us go in the right direction and we will not make any type of progress

If we take any wrong actions and even worse, start giving excuses on why those actions are not wrong, no good outcome can ever be expected ; there is simply no future correction of the actions possible and you have to bear the consequences forever

If we do not control our wrong thoughts and even worse, act on those wrong thoughts, no good outcome can ever be expected ; actions once carried out cannot be undone and you have to bear the consequences forever

If we do not surrender to the Almighty and pray in earnest but even worse, we do not acknowledge God, we will be deluded in thinking that that there is no one above us and that we ourselves are actually holy and surely holier than everyone else ; such delusions will harm us irreparably

If we are not able to act as per our convictions and even worse, we keep swaying by wrong influences, we will never be able to assert our own will of wanting to become one with God ; not having faith and belief that God knows/does what is best or us, we will not be able to receive any of His grace

If we are not able to put in our best efforts in anything and even worse, we just have mere hope that things will happen on it’s own, we will be surely disappointed ;life does not revolve alone on hope and wishful thinking without expending any efforts and you will have nothing to show for this gift of human life

If we do not want to be satisfied with whatever we have been gifted with and even worse, we just keep wanting more and more, we will have no contentment in our life ;we will always remain unhappy and not have any appreciation of God’s grace, either in this life or even when He is preparing us for better lives after this life

If we do wrong things in life and even worse, we do not make any attempt to take the necessary steps to set it right, this would be ultimately even more harmful to our own self ; we would have continued a never ending cycle of misdeeds that we cannot ever get out of without proper atonement by paying our own dues

Living a life of significance requires defining first what is actually and truly significant in life. This includes taking the right actions based on right thinking, having contentment and satisfaction with what we have in our life, having the firm confidence that the Almighty is only doing what is best for you no matter what the circumstances are, and perseverance to surrender to God and await his grace, no matter how long it may take.
